Our Lineman

We got to see Breckin and his features in detail today. And man is he growing like a weed. He weighed in at 4 lbs 10 oz, but we all know that is only an estimate. Brooke is only 30 weeks along and is hoping he doesn't continue to grow at this rate. I hope he does continue to grow....he's going to be our retirement plan. :)

It was such an amazing experience to get to see some of Breckin's features. I find myself looking at him frequently. We can't wait to meet this little guy!

What a cute smile!!!!!

He was a bit camera shy, trying to hide his face.

She makes me proud!!!!

I was so proud of my beautiful wife on Thursday! She had to have four needles stuck into her. Yes four. I felt so bad for her. It pained me to watch it happen, just as it pains a mother to watch her young child be stuck with needles. She was so tough though. She had one shot in the morning for her blood clotting. Then we went to the baby doctor, which she had to drink this nasty sugar drink on the way so they could do the gestational diabetes test. This was the second time she had to drink it because she didn't have the nurse draw her blood soon enough last time. Once we got to the doctor's office they stuck her to draw three or four tubes of blood. These were no small tubes, at least not in a husband's eyes. The pain in which she had to endure just killed me. Ahh...it was horrible. Then she had to get another shot, this time in her bottom. To watch the nurse jam it into her, just made me winch. This one was a rhogam shot to make sure her and Breckin's blood don't reject each other. On top of all of that she had to get another shot at night, again for her blood clotting.

Brooke is such a tough women, enduring at least two shots a day, all for the sake of having a baby! She's a great wife and I couldn't be more proud of her for all she has endured.

Weekend Notes.....

As with most weekends these days, we ran errands trying to get everything ready for Breckin's arrival. Yes, I know he's not due for almost 90 days, but we're super excited and being the planners that we are, we want to have everything ready with plenty of time to spare - just in case. Saturday we got to do my most favorite thing yet; we went to the book store to pick out some starters for Breckin's library. As a kid I loved to read (still do) and I can't wait to instill that in my son.

Here is Will showing off some of our treasures.
Maya took interest in Breckin's books too. She tried to read them, but realized they were in human not doggie language and she wouldn't sit still long enough for me to read one to her.

And the obligitory belly picture.....

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Last week we got to go to a Frisco Rough Riders game - what a blast! We had seats right on the first base line, all you can eat burgers, hotdogs, chips and sodas, free hats, gorgeous weather, lots of friends, walk off homer at the bottom of the tenth for a home team win - it doesn't get any better than this!
The view from our seats....

Full, Happy and Tired - after the game.
